The Italian Ministry of Economic Development has published the ranking of eight Competence Centers entering the negotiation process for government funding.

The Artes 4.0 project for Advanced Robotics and enabling digital Technologies & Systems 4.0, under the supervision of Sant’Anna School, has entered the negotiation process. Artes 4.0 is led and managed by Professor Paolo Dario of the Biorobotics Institute. It is dedicated to promoting and accelerating innovation through public-private partnerships combining technological expertise, research programs, technology transfer and education on advanced robotics and associated enabling technologies.

By bringing together 13 universities and research centers and 146 companies, the Biorobotics Institute is the leading proponent of a tech hub to foster long-term sustainable growth, a paradigm that is central to Italian manufacturing sector.

“Our Competence Center, said Paolo Dario, will help large, medium and small sized enterprises to fully exploit the benefits of Industry 4.0 automation solutions. We propose a program that includes the innovation tools necessary to build the foundations of new economic development and a sustained effort to create a new generation of professionals that are comfortable with the rapidly changing digital technology. Our national Competence Centers, focused on specific technology drivers, are supported by leading Italian universities, private players and stakeholders to encourage opportunities across the entire territory.”

“The ranking provides a measure of Sant’Anna School’s ability to adopt quality improvement, reflecting the need to align changes in policy and practices across its Departments of Excellence (selected by the Ministry of Education in 2017). With the support of our outstanding faculty collaborations, we are ready to bring together key scientific partners and Tuscany’s leading entrepreneurs to better leverage the technological capabilities and encourage the “Made in Italy” innovation culture”
